Sega Update and After Burner Climax XBLA Free Code Contest

E3 2010 is almost upon us, let's hope for some awesome Sega news!!

I recently finished RyuGaGotoku4/Yakuza4.   It is a great game, but not a whole lot different from RyuGaGotoku3.    Overall, I think I had more fun in 3.

I made a high score of 1.38 million in After Burner Climax XBLA recently!   Man, that game is awesome.

I have in my possession an XBLA download code for a FREE After Burner Climax!!  ($10.00 value)    For the lucky 4 of you chosen, and you know who you are, please post here telling me why you love Sega or one of your favorite Sega stories, and then I'll choose the lucky winner!!!

Hope to announce the winner soon!!     Go Sega!!

  1. Anything I say here will be almost irrelevant as nobody, and I mean NOBODY is as big a fan as you. I absolutely adore SEGA and, in a way, SEGA has controlled me sometimes. Not that I'm complaining or anything. I was there for the final night online in PSO (and still play it online through Schthack). I was there for the final night of Outrun 2, 2006 and even the OR2 Live demo for Xbox!!!

I was on the phone to SEGA europe daily while I was a games department manager trying to organize an in store tournament. I've literally spent so much money on SCUD race, Daytona USA 2 and Outrun 2 SP that I could have bought the cabinets themselves (and I still hope to). I've even beaten MBK-GIL's lap time on DUSA2 expert and I want to keep trying through both laps.

Even right now, as I type, I am posting on this blog instead of doing my assignment which is due tomorrow. In fact, If I wasn't unemployed here in recession ravaged Ireland, I wouldn't need to enter the comp as I'd already have the game.

It's not only SEGA racers which I love - Even now, the music while underwater in Alex the Kid in miracle world is ingrained in my head and will be with me for life (largely due to those damn roof spikes which you can somehow bounce off :D). Even my phone ring tone is the boss music from Sonic on the master system.

Possibly my most favourite SEGA game of all is NiGHTS into Dreams (So much so that I actually dressed up (badly) for a fancy dress party as NiGHTS (Not in tights though ;) - I'll see if I have pics). Naturally, I got some wierd looks but my chums agreed that it was ultimately cool (They have a soft spot for SEGA too - Wouldn't want to know anyone who doesn't!)

I could literally spout SEGA all night but I simply HAVE to do my assignment :(
If I somehow win, and I cant use the (presumably US code) here in Ireland, I will pass it on to another entrant.

  2. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have Outrun 2, 2006, Original & turbo music on my in car mp3 along with MSR, VR, Sega Rally, PSO and Daytona's 1 & 2. Sometimes my beloved girlfriend (who fed my Outrun arcade addiction quite a lot) will ask me to "drift more" while i'm driving. I respectfully decline :)
But I still always get "You're so cool" :P
